Star Wars Manga: A New Hope is a four-part manga adaptation of the first Star Wars film, originally released in 1977. The manga was written and illustrated by Hisao Tamaki, and released in Japan in 1998, before being translated into English and published by Dark Horse Comics in 1999.
The manga follows the same basic plot as the film, following Luke Skywalker's journey as he joins the rebellion against the Galactic Empire, aided by Han Solo, Princess Leia, and the wise old Jedi, Obi-Wan Kenobi. Along the way, they encounter iconic characters like Darth Vader, Chewbacca, and the droids R2-D2 and C-3PO.
