Jedi Apprentice: The Defenders of the Dead is a young adult novel written by Jude Watson. In the book, Qui-Gon Jinn and Obi-Wan Kenobi are sent to the planet Melida/Daan to help negotiate a peace treaty between the two warring factions. However, they soon discover that a group of Jedi from their own temple has been kidnapped and are being held for ransom. As the two Jedi try to save their fellow students, they must also navigate the dangerous political climate and ensure that the peace treaty is successful.
