The New Jedi Order: Vector Prime is a novel by R.A. Salvatore, published in 1999. It is the first installment of the New Jedi Order series. The novel takes place 25 years after the events of Return of the Jedi. The galaxy is at peace, and the New Republic is thriving. However, a new threat has emerged: a mysterious alien race known as the Yuuzhan Vong has entered the galaxy, determined to conquer and destroy everything in their path. The novel follows the exploits of Han Solo, his wife Leia Organa Solo, and their three children, as they join forces with Luke Skywalker, Mara Jade, and other Jedi to confront this new menace. Meanwhile, Jacen Solo, Han and Leia's oldest son, is taken captive by the Yuuzhan Vong and forced to confront his own beliefs and values. The novel features intense action sequences, complex character development, and explores the darker side of the Star Wars universe.
